Summer Tools

Warmer weather makes us want to get out to work on our yards. My painting shows some of the tools and equipment you may need. Not shown are the pain pills you will need for body aches with all of the bending, kneeling and crawling you will do.

Garden Art

On a family reunion vacation years ago, we stayed at a bed and breakfast facility near Cabot, Vermont. The surrounding lawns and gardens were decorated with items like this. I had some time to do some rough sketches and take photos. When I arrived back home I completed this painting. Ink and watercolor. SOLD

Rocky Roadrunner

We received two pieces of colorful garden art for our yard. The wings spin around to supposedly keep the birds away. The spinning does not work well unless I oil them constantly. Our local birds, however, feel they have a new friend and suspend themselves in flight over the two Rocky Roadrunners as if they want them to play with them. The bright colors make these guys very noticeable and popular. Children think they are a toy and want to yank them down and play with them. Ink and watercolor.

Vacant Pots Of Color

Empty pots against a patio wall is an exercise in simplicity. Spackles of color are shown on the pots along with a variety of color. These empty pots would have been spectacular if they were filled with flowers and other growth. I thought of filling the pots with growth but it was too late since the images were already drawn in ink--next time! Ink and watercolor. SOLD
