A Nice Tiger

My painting of this tiger turned out to have the look of a nice, friendly wild animal. Of course it is not chummy and nice but I decided that it looks nice—the reason for the title. Tigers are an endangered species. They are indigenous to some of the more populated places on the planet which cause conflicts with humans. BEWARE. Safer to see them in zoos. They are beautiful.                  Ink and watercolor. SOLD

San Francisco Side Street

The city of San Francisco has so many unique locations to draw. This painting shows a simple, hilly side street, multi-story buildings with afternoon shadows and an interesting view looking upward. I added more color to everything including the sky for more interest. I did most of my ink work first then added color since the overall image needed more punch. Ink and watercolor.

Lighthouse in Maine

This brightly painted lighthouse is located in the state of Maine, USA. This is the West Quaddy Head Light in Lubec. It stands high above the ocean and on this bright, sunny day can be seen by everyone. This painting was done quickly and loosely and is a pleasant reprieve from some of my tight, detailed work. Ink and watercolor. SOLD
