This flower image which I named after myself started out as a test. It looks like a form of lily but I cannot tell for sure. Using some tan construction paper, I drew a few ink lines, then slapped on some color. While scanning, dark background images appeared which I liked so I kept them. At times just playing around along with accidents during scanning can result in pleasing results. Ink and watercolor.

This road sign alerts drivers to be aware. There are many curves ahead with thunder clouds looming in the distance. So not only will drivers be going slow for the curves but they may run into heavy, soaking rainstorms. These obstacles can make any drive more interesting.

When train travel was roaring, this railroad depot was very active in upper Auburn. Now the trains do not stop here. This building is the home of the town’s Chamber of Commerce. Growing up in Auburn, I remember how exciting this area was. Passenger trains stopped, people meandered and baggage was hoisted on and off the trains. Then the trains would leave—heading towards San Francisco. Now it is quiet but fond memories remain.
