While on the internet, I came across an image of a quiet neighborhood with a huge church at the end of the street. It is somewhere in Europe. I liked the neat look of the row of homes and was struck by the huge church in the background so I painted the scene. Seemed odd for the church to be so close to the homes but close it is. Even though it is a sunny day, the bare trees behind the structures let us know its winter time. Watercolor.

Once in a while, I play with drawing faces. Doing portraits where your drawing actually looks like the person you are drawing is difficult. Caricatures are a little different—they should be humorous which allows for a lot of freedom. If a couple of features of a person’s face are there, a funny face is easier to do. People shown here are: Jay Leno, Willie Nelson, Jim Carrey, and David Letterman.

My painting is an impression from a photograph I discovered on the Internet. This does not look much like the original photograph because I decided to enhance it. This image shows a colorful sunset and the silhouette of a huge naked tree where predictions of rain and snow will soon dampen the parched earth. This scene is near Truckee, California, which is located between Donner Summit and Lake Tahoe. Ink and watercolor.

This panoramic view of open spaces is located somewhere in the southwest USA. The beauty of trees, water and colorful mountains make this high-desert country scene soothing to view. Ink and watercolor. SOLD
