This painting of the Capitol Records building was done for a friend who gave the original as a gift to her son on Christmas 2013. This building and scene is one of his favorites. Many of you may recognize this building which was very unique when it was built in 1956. Located just north of the famous Hollywood and Vine intersection, it remains very unique in its architecture to this day and is a definite landmark in Los Angeles. Ink and watercolor. SOLD

Every little town has a library. This one in downtown Lincoln is now obsolete and has been replaced by a larger facility outside of town. I posted a photo image of this library on my personal Facebook site and now I am posting my loose watercolor painting on my art site. The old building still looks sturdy and bright. Too bad some of these old buildings have been replaced. But that’s progress I guess.

In the middle of New York City there is property known as Central Park. This urban park has lots of trees, huge lawn areas, water features and many trusty old stone bridges as shown here. It is a place for people to enjoy and remove themselves from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. This bridge looks solid and the colorful trees surrounding the stream make for a tranquil setting. Enjoy my Ink and watercolor landscape painting. SOLD

My first painting of the year shows a quiet neighborhood at night during a winter snowfall. My painting also suggests “wishful thinking” on my part because we in northern California are not receiving rain or snow as we normally do. Typically, we would have had a decent amount of rain and the mountains would be packed with snow by now. Hopefully, the month of January will begin to bring us some precipitation. We need the snowpack so our lakes will fill up and be ready for the warm summer months. Enjoy my watercolor. I hope you have a happy and prosperous 2014.
