I do not draw and paint cats very often, but before Christmas I got the bug to do some of them. This one, named Gustov, is a nice close up view. I drew it from a photo because I don't have a cat that would stand still long enough for me to draw. It seems I just get the bug to do certain subjects for some reason--wolves (I love them), underwater scenes, cats, dogs--then I won't do those subjects for a long time. After doing commissions (which puts the pressure on any artist), it's nice to draw whatever I want to draw. Ink and watercolor.

Oh, you put your comment option back up! Glad. I have done some paintings of my cat and I agree a photo is a must. That or I have a lot of different parts moving around! You can find Henry V on my blog.
Love the detail you got in this painting! Very impressive.
