Color Village

Using a watercolor pouring technique for the background, I developed this image of a village on top of a hill. After I sketched the buildings, roads and trees I poured the very runny watercolors all over the paper and tilted the paper so the colors would run together. When very dry, I went over my sketched lines in ink. This is fun to do and the results are very interesting. Ink and watercolor.

I like this one a lot Terry. The colours have turned out very vibrant. Is it tricky not to end up with a muddy mess?

I think I will try the technique myself when I have some watercolour paper.
