Auburn Victorian

During a hot summer day at a plein air paint out, our group was up in Auburn, California, for our weekly outing. On one of the back streets of the town, we came across this totally redone Victorian home which is an office for attorneys. The detail is fantastic in this old home. I drew for about an hour in order to finish the basics so I could get out of the heat. When I returned home I used images from my camera to finalize the painting. 11" x 14", ink and watercolor.

Oh I love it!!! Do you sketch in ink and then fill in with watercolor? I would love to learn how you do this! It has such a great illustrated quality and so nostalgic. My email is donnab6464@gmail.com. I will be your follower from now on...
