Joshua trees are predominate in this painting I call Joshua Tree Hill. These rolling, dry hills and climate are perfect growing grounds for these trees. Along highway 395 in southern California, this type of tree can be seen for miles along the roadway. Ink and watercolor.

this is beautiful! Do you ink first and paint around it, or do you ink over the paint?
The Joshua tree is a subject that lends itself well to your technique, and you've done it beautifully.
Thank you for commenting on my artwork Jesse and Charlene.
Jesse--I generally ink most of the image first then apply watercolors. But I do still come back with more ink and watercolors after I sit back and look at the painting.
